Founded in 1897 this distillery would at one point be the largest distillery in Scotland.

It was eventually bought by the Takura Shuzo Corporation, who were Tomatin Distillery’s biggest customers.

Although 80% of its output goes into some of the most popular blends in Japan, it has been carving out a name for itself as a single malt. Its latest success so far has been the highly experimental Cù Bòcan which has helped to expand its customer base to younger and newcomers to scotch.
